ALIGN BODY & MIND
Practice makes presence
SARAH BAY
I began my yoga practice in my early teens in 2000 when I was introduced to Yoga and Ayurveda by my dear grandmother. Since then, yoga asana, pranayama, mediation and philosophy have been a key part of my toolbox to align body and mind when going through life's twists and turns. These practices are my anchor, they remind me to show up every day with an open mind and explore the dance between effort and ease. In 2014 I moved to San Francisco, where I got to study with my teachers in person (E-RYT-500) and where I began the path of teaching Vinyasa, Hatha and Restorative Yoga at yoga studios and companies in the city. After 6 months in Hawaii I returned to Denmark in the summer of 2020 and feel grateful to have several places around the world that feel like "home". Prior to teaching Yoga full time I was working in the tech industry and have a MSc in Management of Innovation and Business Development. I now live in Copenhagen with my husband, and our 2 year-old daughter and dog - never a boring moment in our home.
Over the years my personal practice and teaching has been influenced by various Yoga styles (Anusara, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Restorative and Hatha) and I love to be a student of Yoga - there’s always more. I am grateful to continuously study with my main teachers Annie Carpenter, Sean Haleen, Carrie Owerko and Jill Miller.

PRACTICE & OFFERINGS
MY TEACHING STYLE
With a lighthearted style, my classes are designed to increase mobility and strength through mindful sequencing - and play!
I seek to offer a space for you to expand awareness of your body and mind as we explore the key actions of various yoga poses through diverse, dynamic movement and steady holds, as well as pranayama and meditation. I always offer variations through the class giving you options to meet your body where its at on that given day and time to create a balanced & challenging yoga practice.

I love to add a different spin on well-known yoga poses to give our nervous system a novel experience and to help our brain learn new skills. The key priority being to move mindfully and cultivate body awareness so that we can skillfully evolve our practice. Whether focusing on the physical or the more subtle energetic aspects, the practices of yoga give us an opportunity to pay attention to what's happening in this very moment and to foster insight - both on and off the mat.

I offer these classes in studios, private yoga sessions and for companies looking to offer in-office yoga to their employees. Please reach out to learn more.

COMPANY CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

I've been teaching yoga at companies for 6 years, previously in San Francisco and now in Copenhagen at companies like The Royal Danish Theater, HAY, The Faculty of Law, Oticon and others. It's an offering that's very dear to me as the practices of Yoga is a powerful way to balance an at times high-paced worklife. These classes are designed to be accessible to all practitioners from those brand new to yoga, and to those who have been practicing for years and they can be tailored to the wishes of the specific group. The focus in these classes is to create resilience and a feeling of release for the whole body and mind - often giving wrists, neck and shoulders some extra care. This is most often set up as a weekly class at the premises of the workplace, but there is also the possibility of organizing individual workshops within or outside the office, for instance as a yoga workshop during an off-sites or team days.
