ALIGN BODY & MIND

Practice makes presence

SARAH BAY

B85721D5-0ED0-4B46-8E0D-F1CBF0FC04E4.JPG

I began practicing yoga in my early teens in 2000, introduced to Yoga and Ayurveda by my beloved grandmother. Since then, yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy have been essential tools for navigating life’s twists and turns. These practices are my anchor, helping me align body and mind, and reminding me to approach each day with curiosity and an open heart, embracing the dance between effort and ease.

In 2014, I moved to San Francisco, where I had the privilege of studying in person with my teachers (E-RYT-500) and began teaching Vinyasa, Hatha, and Restorative Yoga in studios and companies around the city. After spending six months in Hawaii, I returned to Denmark in 2020, grateful to have multiple places in the world that feel like “home.”

Before transitioning to teaching yoga full-time, I worked in the tech industry and earned an MSc in Management of Innovation and Business Development. I now live in Copenhagen with my husband, our lovely three-year-old daughter, and our dog - ensuring there’s never a dull moment in our home!

Over the years my personal practice and teaching has been influenced by various Yoga styles (Anusara, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Restorative and Hatha) and I love to be a student of Yoga - there’s always more. I am grateful to continuously study with my main teachers  Annie Carpenter, Sean Haleen, Carrie Owerko, Janet Stone and Jill Miller.

Let's stay in touch

Sign up for my occasional newsletter - just a few updates a year. It’s a little personal note from me to you, sharing yoga tips,  workshop details, and everyday reflections. I’d love to hear your thoughts, too - think of it as a two-way conversation, not just another email.

PRACTICE & OFFERINGS

MY TEACHING STYLE

With a lighthearted approach, my classes are designed to build mobility and strength through mindful sequencing—and a touch of playfulness! I aim to create a welcoming space where you can deepen your connection to body and mind. Together, we’ll explore the foundational actions of yoga poses through a mix of dynamic movement, steady holds, pranayama, and meditation. I offer variations throughout the class, providing options to meet your body where it is on any given day, ensuring a balanced and accessible yet challenging practice.

I enjoy adding a fresh twist to familiar yoga poses, giving your nervous system a novel experience and your brain an opportunity to learn new skills. The focus is always on mindful movement and cultivating body awareness to evolve your practice with intention. Whether emphasizing physical alignment or subtle energetic shifts, yoga invites us to tune into the present moment and discover insights that extend far beyond the mat.

I teach in studios, offer private sessions, and provide in-office yoga classes for companies looking to support their employees' well-being. Feel free to reach out to learn more!

COMPANY CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

I’ve been teaching workplace yoga for six years, starting in San Francisco and now in Copenhagen, with clients including The Royal Danish Theater, HAY, The Faculty of Law, Oticon, and others. This offering is close to my heart, as yoga is a powerful way to bring balance to a fast-paced work environment. The classes are designed to be accessible for everyone - from complete beginners to experienced practitioners - and can be tailored to suit the needs of each group. The focus is on building resilience and providing a sense of release for both body and mind, with special attention often given to areas like the wrists, neck, and shoulders.

Most commonly, I offer weekly classes at the workplace, but I also organize individual workshops for off-sites, team-building days, or special events, either on-site or at external locations.
